David Dillard, LMFT
Hi, I'm David. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Louisville, Kentucky with thirty years of experience treating issues including stress and anxiety, grief, depression, addictions, relationship issues and family conflicts. Whatever you're dealing with, I believe there is hope for healing.
People come into therapy because something needs to change. You're stuck, you're struggling, you're addicted, you're in spiritual exile or spiritual bondage and you want to be free and know that you belong. If you're 'going through it' like this, you need someone who's been there to talk to. I can help. Sometimes change comes quickly, other times not so much, but I have found that when you give voice to your struggles with someone you can trust, you are able to come up with solutions for coping and access the courage to get what you need. We can do this together.
My whole career has been spent exploring the ways people find hope in their lives. This has been my calling as a therapist and as a psychiatric chaplain in hospitals and prisons. I've been in this work since 1995, and I feel that call as strongly now as I did when I started on this path. I will listen deeply to you so I can help you find your way.
I know how hard it can be to find the right therapist, especially while you're struggling. It's not easy to find someone who can take you as you are and help you get to where you need to be. Trust me when I tell you that good things happen when people get help. If you need a skilled and experienced listener, give me a call today.
I will listen deeply to understand you and will give you a safe place to share things that are difficult to talk about. Good therapy works. Time and again, I have witnessed minds restored, hearts mended, and relationships healed. Let's get to work helping you!
In addition to the clinical education and training involved in my licensure, I hold a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Louisville Seminary and a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary. I am an ordained minister and was Chaplain and Director of Pastoral Services at Central State Hospital and Chaplain at Kentucky State Reformatory.
